AION 2 COMPANION

BETA UPDATES

Current release notes and the verified public beta history.

CURRENT RELEASE
0.2.0-beta.55

One update action for both apps

  • Use Update & restart in Companion, launcher Settings or the AION 2 tile/profile. Every entry point checks the launcher and installed Companion, downloads available updates and applies them together.
  • An explicit update runs the complete sequence even when automatic updates are off, without changing that saved preference.
  • Companion saves its progress and layout before replacement. The coordinated restart reopens Companion when it was running; AION 2 stays open.
  • Up-to-date apps do not restart unnecessarily. Failed checks, downloads or saves leave current apps running so you can retry.

Update AION 2 Companion through the VantagePoint launcher. Launcher beta 14 is current.

The complete shared action is provided by launcher beta 14 and Companion beta 55. The new Companion also supports an older parent through its existing update phases.

Companion beta 54 — Clearer maps, smarter routes and better helpers
0.2.0-beta.54

Clearer maps, smarter routes and better helpers

  • Map layers are reorganized into Quests, Enemies, Travel, Exploration, Shops and Gathering. Existing filter choices stay available.
  • Shops have separate filters for Storage, General Goods, Command, Crafting, Morph and Event merchants, with recorded locations across the supported maps.
  • Added Monoliths and travel-statue locations, plus Kibelisks, updrafts and windstreams across the available dungeon and overworld map data.
  • Expand gathering groups to choose individual materials. Material choices stay saved and apply to both live and recorded map markers.
  • Quest markers use the game’s artwork for verified main, regional and Ascension quest states. The selected objective has a clearer highlight and balanced default icon sizes.
  • Live dungeon bosses use the native red boss marker when their current instance entity is confirmed. Uncertain quest types retain a generic marker.
  • Auto Explore finishes nearby, eligible unfinished pet farming before a long departure while keeping nearby traces first. Pet stops remain selected through soul gains until the collection goal is complete.
  • Pet sources that require field bosses follow the Field Bosses filter in Auto Explore. They still appear as collectible pets in Collections.
  • Abyss quest journeys can guide to a verified portal, then switch to the destination NPC after crossing. Waiting Rift quests no longer take over that journey.
  • Quest pickup remains available while Rift-crossing steps wait for a confirmed usable entrance. An unconfirmed search area is not presented as an exact portal.
  • Added and corrected supported objectives throughout Draupnir, Forest Shade Execution Site, Romlon’s Hideout, Zikel’s Distorted Dream and other reviewed quest instances.
  • Zumion’s Call Part Two now targets the Brazier of Sacrifice instead of selecting the nearest incorrect brazier.
  • Dungeon Helper’s countdown starts at the confirmed entrance-portal activation and freezes when the final boss is defeated. Intermediate boss kills do not stop it.
  • Event timers have corrected schedules, explicit opening and entry-closing labels, and a glow during limited entry windows.
  • Timer categories use matching colours in the menu and HUD: Events, Abyss, Arena and resets. Black Cloud Merchant is named consistently under Events.
  • Per-timer alert choices use the notification widget. Server and local clocks are displayed alongside the event list.
  • Pantheon unlocks such as Teina update ownership after the decoration is used. Equipped slots show Keep equipped or the recommended replacement with its gains.
  • Pantheon cards follow the diagram’s physical slot positions; selection highlights both views. Why this change details stay collapsed until opened.
  • Daevanion refinement considers whole skill paths funded by multiple refunds and rescored with the damage model. Timed-out searches are distinguished from completed passes.
  • Board scoring reuses equivalent results and retains cache data across unchanged refinement rounds. Cooperative workers score separate candidates while the main worker validates the recommendation.
  • Improved skill-stream recovery and diagnostics for missing live ranks. Collection updates retain their tracking scope across map changes.
  • Target Viewer applies the model’s authored colour blending so affected models, including Drana Predator, no longer render pale white.
  • Launcher beta 12 adds the new VantagePoint branding, matching setup screens and the website-style AION 2 library tile.

Companion beta 53 — Inventory sync hotfix
0.2.0-beta.53

Inventory sync hotfix

  • Fixes the inventory login-sync regression introduced in beta 52. Different inventory-capacity values no longer prevent otherwise valid item totals from syncing.
  • Return Scroll login counts retain both confirmed zero and positive bag quantities. Scrolls outside the bag are not counted as available in the bag.
  • Improved Sehna Outpost directions for the legionnaire, verified research objects, sound source and later marked objectives. Completed objectives stay out of current guidance.

Companion beta 52 — Return Scroll totals sync at login
0.2.0-beta.52

Return Scroll totals sync at login

Superseded by beta 53, which fixes the inventory-capacity metadata regression found after this release.

  • Return Scrolls now show a synced zero when your bag is empty, including when scrolls are held in another container.
  • Login item totals are checked against the complete supported inventory message before an empty count is confirmed.
  • Older item updates no longer overwrite a newer confirmed zero.
  • Inventory snapshots that arrive before character identification are retained briefly and applied to the incoming character.

Companion beta 51 — Support reports and steadier quest guidance
0.2.0-beta.51

Support reports and steadier quest guidance

Historical note: the empty Return Scroll login case described here was addressed in later inventory updates.

  • Export a diagnostic report from Settings > Connection & setup when something is not working.
  • Start an optional inventory capture before returning to character select and re-entering. It stops automatically and stays on your PC until you choose to export it.
  • Inventory captures help investigate missing login totals without using or discarding your items. Attach the exported report to your support message.
  • Completed Daevanion recommendations stay available while you review and apply them. One thorough calculation replaces competing early and later results; unchanged character refreshes no longer restart the search.
  • Old or missing field-boss reports no longer make an otherwise healthy sync indicator turn yellow. The boss row still shows when its data needs refreshing.
  • Tempestuous Dawn can guide the Notos Legion Office destination and continue to Fallen Relic Storage from the verified shared-coordinate interior.
  • Restored the current guard objective in Mantasch Patrol Base and the Giant Egg approach objective in Sabga Balaur Campsite.
  • Restored Maktashan Outpost’s marked search areas while keeping collected or removed objects out of live targets.

Companion beta 50 — Game update fixes and a more personal Companion
0.2.0-beta.50

Game update fixes and a more personal Companion

Historical note: beta 51 replaced the early-result/background board flow described below with one thorough, stable calculation.

  • Board notifications appear only for fresh plans with changes to make. Unchanged, repeated and stale results stay quiet.
  • Board planning evaluates complete purchase paths, including connecting tiles, and uses remaining points on legal non-regressive purchases. The automatic search returns a usable plan first, then looks for improvements in the background.
  • Zumion’s Ward now guides the required invisible entry checkpoints and clears each one from its own quest counter.
  • Restored movement tracking and automatic helpers after the October 28 game update.
  • Field-boss reports now accept alive bosses with no respawn time. Refresh them by opening Map > Exploration > Field Bosses.
  • Weekly Abyss allowance syncs again, including a confirmed zero balance. Return Scroll totals now load from the available login snapshot.
  • Equipped wings and their appearance load when you enter your character, without needing to equip them again. New wing rewards also update ownership as they arrive.
  • Create, name, duplicate and share your own skill and stigma presets. Choose specialties, repeated skill milestones, stigma upgrade steps and optional replacements, then follow the preset directly in Build Helper.
  • Preset guidance uses your current points, unlocks and bonus ranks. It keeps unaffordable goals for later and can spend spare skill points using the damage model.
  • Added Pantheon recommendations using the pieces you own. See one complete setup, highlighted changes, setup effects and gains and losses alongside the game-style 17-slot board.
  • Pantheon compares multi-piece replacements and updates as you equip, remove or replace pieces. Larger searches clearly say Best found when they are not exhaustive.
  • Build Helper has a cleaner equipment grid, compact skill and board information, clearer point totals and game-style locks for unlearned stigmas.
  • The next skill or stigma action is highlighted automatically. Gains and losses covers the remaining plan, and completed board calculations can notify you without interrupting play.
  • Macros show the full skill sequence with names and delays. Manual buffs stay separate, and saved rotation notes remain available.
  • Build Helper remembers separate positions for the Skills, Daevanion, Cube, Titles and Wings menus.
  • Auto Explore switches less often between competing nearby objectives while releasing completed or unavailable targets immediately.
  • Navigation gives your destination priority over roads. Flying and gliding point toward the objective; ground guidance uses roads as a lighter influence.
  • More regional instance entrances, quest objects and health-threshold objectives have directions. Accepted regional quests retain their own objectives across story-area boundaries.
  • Transformation quests keep unrelated instance detours out of the route. Sealed-dungeon prerequisite clears are checked before suggesting an entrance.
  • Current quest conversations can point to the parent map from verified shared-coordinate interiors, including Adrian from the Notos Legion Office.
  • Collected or unavailable dungeon chests no longer reappear as targets from their recorded positions.
  • Puzzle patterns remain visible through memorisation scenes and used tiles, then clear for a new reveal, completion or zone change.
  • Widgets hide earlier during loading transitions and return more reliably afterward. Abandoned performance-capture sessions no longer block new FPS readings.
  • Choose a standard, ultrawide or super-ultrawide starting layout, or fit it to your screen. Save keeps the result; Cancel restores your previous setup.
  • HUD editing shows disabled widgets so you can place and enable them. Visibility buttons match the game, and dragging returns a widget to manual placement.
  • The target viewer keeps its nearest vertical edge steady when its content changes. Transparency affects the backdrop while keeping labels and models clear.
  • Compact quest, target, session and dungeon displays leave more gameplay visible. Pet targets use small pages; urgent timers appear first and compact timer paging remains optional.
  • Hidden Cube filters respond to detected keys and to consuming the last known key. An unknown balance is never displayed as a confirmed item total.
  • Field-boss timer names, portraits and Map buttons open the recorded spawn map without replacing your current route.
  • The main window uses neutral dark surfaces, restrained cyan selections and warm section headings, with the brighter VantagePoint crest.
  • Today focuses on daily Kina, weekly Abyss and gathering allowances. Gathering nodes hide on the minimap below level 45; the daily usage counter is still awaiting verification.
  • Hidden Cubes shows recorded location counts instead of misleading completion or availability warnings.
  • Updates preserve saved character progress and layouts while waiting for fresh game data. Release history uses clearer, feature-focused notes.
  • With the matching launcher update, VantagePoint and installed companions update together. During play, installation waits for your restart click and saves Companion first.

EARLIER PUBLIC RELEASES

Earlier beta updates

Only public beta releases verified from publication records are listed here. Some version numbers are omitted; this is not a list of every development build.

Companion beta 46 — Live collections, Dungeon Helper, and regional quest catch-up
0.2.0-beta.46

Live collections, Dungeon Helper, and regional quest catch-up

  • New titles appear in your collection as you earn them, without equipping them or logging in again.
  • Includes the earlier Titles & Wings, board progress, interface and quest-tracking improvements.
  • Larger boss, dungeon, trace, cube and chest icons make the map easier to read. Your character and current objective stay visible above other markers.
  • Drag Dungeon Helper by its heading to move it. Your position is saved, and reward names now use their item rarity colours.
  • Dungeon Helper shows your Odyle Energy, the reward cost and how many rewards you can claim.
  • Wings now recommend a clear upgrade from your owned pairs, including when several choices deal the same estimated damage. You can still compare every option.
  • Build Helper fits the screen more reliably at larger sizes. Tabs start at the top when opened, and narrow screens use a cleaner layout.
  • Auto Explore brings you back to unfinished regional quests before taking you farther into the story.

Companion beta 44 — Native game UI, Titles & Wings, and live quest improvements
0.2.0-beta.44

Native game UI, Titles & Wings, and live quest improvements

  • Widgets hide and return more quickly when you open menus or watch scenes. Detection works with different HUD layouts; shop and storage exceptions are preserved.
  • Board calculations continue in the background and handle new points, empty unlocked boards and short sync delays more reliably. Unlocked centre tiles light up correctly.
  • Fixed skill recommendations that ignored free unlocks or bonus ranks from gear and boards. Stigma recommendations now wait until you complete Ascension.
  • Added Titles & Wings to Build Helper. Compare owned choices for each title slot and your wing effects, with recommendations and clear stat changes.
  • Equipping titles or wings updates the helper live. Wing appearance and wing effects are tracked separately.
  • Titles and wings have larger game artwork, rarity colours and compact comparison cards. Expand Full comparison or Owned options for more detail.
  • Added more game-style buttons, checkboxes, tab icons, board frames and decorations. Board labels are clearer, step numbers stay above highlights, and the jump-to-tile icon stays visible on hover.
  • Improved tooltip spacing, long instructions and compass text. Skill costs and unlock levels are easier to read, and recommendations show the matching skill icons.
  • Auto Explore keeps unfinished regional quests in your route. During disguise or transformation quests, it avoids unrelated dungeons and strongholds while still allowing nearby collectibles.
  • More sealed-dungeon switches, chests and hidden quest items now have directions, including the chest and book in Collapsed Fortress Basement.
  • Main and side objectives no longer interfere with each other. Fortress Jail tracks all four prison doors and continues to the final Iron Door and book.
  • Used quest devices and collected items stop appearing as available targets. Unfinished objectives remain available when you move away and return.
  • Improved Cohta Outpost directions, moving escorts and NPC tracking during disguise quests.
  • Puzzle Helper supports more dungeons, rectangular grids and camera angles. Widgets stay hidden more reliably through cutscene map transitions.
  • Board progress updates no longer restart the tile highlight or loading animation. Clicking through your plan stays steadier while calculations continue.
Companion beta 42 — Emergency fix: widgets disappearing during gameplay
0.2.0-beta.42

Emergency fix: widgets disappearing during gameplay

  • Fixed widgets staying hidden after conversations, including conversations that lead into an instance.
  • Widgets return when you resume playing and no longer hide again because of an old conversation.
  • Fixed some custom HUD layouts being mistaken for a cutscene.
  • Includes all class guidance, exploration and interface improvements from beta41.
Release announcement ↗
Companion beta 41 — All-class build guidance, smarter exploration and live-tracking fixes
0.2.0-beta.41

All-class build guidance, smarter exploration and live-tracking fixes

  • Build guidance now supports all eight classes, including skills, passives, specialties, stigmas and the first four Daevanion boards.
  • Added class-specific macros and simpler rotation instructions. They update as you unlock skills, and optional manual buffs are clearly marked.
  • Improved damage comparisons for critical hits, attack position, damage over time, cooldowns and mana use. Summons and class-specific bonuses are included where supported.
  • Skill and stigma plans handle free resets, leftover points, specialty unlocks and four-stigma limits. Gladiator defaults to Wave Armor, with Focused Block available when needed, and changes buffs at Lunge Stance rank 20.
  • Board plans keep the full refund-and-purchase route, continue refining in the background and check that each step is connected and affordable. Equal results favour fewer changes and cheaper refunds.
  • Auto Explore follows story progression through Verteron and Altgard, fitting regional quests, dungeons, strongholds and nearby collectibles into the route. It supports level-45 cleanup and skips the unavailable level-46 story quest.
  • Auto Explore can use supported one-way windstreams as shortcuts. The map follows you during travel and shows a windstream icon for nearby stream objectives.
  • Improved directions to instance-entry NPCs, moving targets and multi-part objectives. Completed or destroyed objectives release their map marker, compass and tether.
  • Added more dungeon and stronghold objectives, Supply Chests and chest variants. Opened or inactive chests disappear, and nearby Hidden Cubes take priority when you have a key.
  • Improved widget hiding during conversations and cutscenes, including map changes, and reduced flicker after conversations.
  • Map titles show the local area name. Added more instance maps and corrected Ascension-area alignment.
  • Improved live tracking for combat, movement, equipment, rewards and inventory changes, including newly acquired Cube keys. No separate tracking app is needed.
  • Levels, points, skill ranks and specialties update more reliably, including when switching characters or restarting Companion.
  • Cleaner helper headers and spacing keep more of the game visible. Skill jumps highlight the correct tile and place its tooltip beside it.

Companion beta 40 — Assassin and Ranger build guidance, background planning and puzzle help
0.2.0-beta.40

Assassin and Ranger build guidance, background planning and puzzle help

  • Added updated build guidance for Assassin and Ranger. Other classes still use earlier guidance in this version.
  • Skill and stigma recommendations compare your full point budget, level unlocks and bonus ranks from gear, Arcana and boards.
  • Plans show resets, upgrades and specialty changes in order. Skill, stigma and board points are handled separately.
  • Board recommendations compare connected builds across the first four unlocked boards and favour fewer changes when results are similar.
  • Board calculations start after relevant build changes and keep running with the helper closed. Added progress feedback and Recalculate, with extra background searches on capable PCs.
  • Numbered routes show refunds and purchases. The next action glows, while clicked steps get their own preview highlight. Gains and losses open in a movable panel.
  • Refund previews combine the stats and skill ranks you would lose and can show the refund order directly on the board.
  • Build Helper has clearer Skills & Stigmas, Boards and Gear & Stats tabs, with larger icons, cleaner colours and smoother dragging.
  • Switch between macros and rotation advice to save space. Hover macro columns to see the full line or skill names to see their icons.
  • Gear & Stats shows equipment alongside collapsible stat sections and a live diagram of your primary and deity attributes.
  • Opening Skills, Daevanion or Cube opens the matching helper tab. Cube detection works across inventory filters.
  • Expanded built-in tracking for combat, movement and skill use without needing another decoder app.
  • Improved live levels, point balances, specialties and skill or stigma upgrades and resets.
  • Build tracking updates after crystal rewards, board changes, equipment swaps and enhancements. Restarting the tracker preserves your character state.
  • Improved directions for moving escorts, nearby objectives, quest changes and Fissure Cave stages.
  • Added more dungeon chest types and orb-chest grouping. Opened and inactive chests stop appearing as available.
  • The compact and expanded maps now use a 16:9 shape while keeping pan, zoom and saved placement.
  • Added Fissure Cave Puzzle Helper. It remembers the safe tiles after their colours disappear and closes when you finish or leave. Adjust it under Layout > Helpers.
  • The launcher offers the right action for what is already running. You can start AION 2 with Companion open, and the launcher hides once both are ready.

  • Added minimap filters for quest objectives and pickups, plus a quest-icon size control.
  • Search suggestions include recent selections, with a Clear history option.
  • Widgets respond faster when menus open and close.
Companion beta 25 — Master search and compact session tracking
0.2.0-beta.25

Master search and compact session tracking

  • Auto Explore waits until the story takes you into a new area before suggesting pet detours there.
  • You can return to previously visited areas for cleanup. Level-45 world scaling is supported.
  • Side-area suggestions follow nearby story destinations instead of sending you across the map based on level alone.
  • Fixed quest progress being assigned to the wrong character during a switch. Log in again after this update to refresh it.
  • Position tracking can be set up from the installer or Connection & Setup.
  • Widgets hide for more game menus and return to their saved layout afterward. Menu exceptions remain adjustable.

Read the older release archive
0.2.0-beta.23

Navigation polish and Skills menu visibility

  • AION-inspired charcoal panels, fine bronze borders and square menu controls throughout the companion interface.
  • Auto Explore has a clearer objective card, live state and compact upcoming route preview when stops are available.
  • Widgets automatically hide in Skills and return with their saved layout when you close it. Shop keeps the Black Cloud Merchant exception.
  • Corrected Fossa guide destinations and added a shared rule to follow identified quest NPCs when their live actor positions are available.
  • The scrollbar stops above the larger bottom-right resize handle.
  • Direct live quest-marker coordinates remain in development; unsupported event steps still require the in-game tracker.
0.2.0-beta.21

Settings and overlay controls

  • Settings are grouped by purpose, with update history inside Companion and the launcher.
  • Adjust interface scale from a stationary floating control.
  • Set individual minimap icon sizes with live visual previews.
  • Choose a shortcut to hide or restore the overlay while playing.
  • Quest changes immediately refresh the tracked target widget instead of keeping the previous quest.
  • Scripted quest steps that explicitly name their entry NPC can guide to that NPC, including Searching for an Escaped Fossa.
0.2.0-beta.20

Collection sync and interface scale

  • Ready-to-turn-in quests no longer block dungeon and stronghold collection sync.
  • Tracking diagnostics distinguish complete, partial and missing quest snapshots.
  • Scale the main interface independently of your HUD widgets.
  • Widget layout controls explain each widget on hover and keyboard focus.
0.2.0-beta.19

Server status

  • Server status shows how long ago it was updated and gives clearer retry messages.
0.2.0-beta.18

Reader recovery

  • Improved movement reader recovery and update handoff.
  • Included required reader dependencies and improved setup checks.
